Shea Butter

Shea Butter is from the nuts of the shea tree, made from crushing the roasted Shea Nut and collecting the fat – it has been used as a cosmetic ingredient for centuries.
We use Shea Butter in our products for its moisturising effects as it restores the barrier between your skin and the outside environment, locking in moisture and deeply nourishing your skin. With a significant levels of vitamins A and E, meaning it promotes strong antioxidant activity.
Vitamins A and E help maintain the skin and keep it clear and healthy. They help prevent premature wrinkles and lines. Vitamin F acts as a skin protector and rejuvenator.
Shea Butter has between 7-12% unsaponifiables. For comparison, avocado oil, a well-known skin conditioner, has between 2-6%. This high level of unsaponifiables is one of the properties that makes shea butter so invaluable in treating the conditions listed above. Also, Shea Butter easily penetrates the skin allowing the skin to breathe and not clog pores!
